ABOUT ME

I've been designing websites for over 5 years, based in Western Australia. I hand code using standards compliant and accessible xHTML, CSS and more recently HTML5.

As a keen photographer, I have been involved in producing the photographs for many of the websites I design.

Why the big blank white space?

Well, that's how I think every website design should start - as a blank canvas. I hate templates, I won't use them and I don't recommend you do either.

All my website designs are hand coded from scratch, to current web standards, and are designed to present your product professionally yet simply.

There are 3 things I feel are requirements for a good website, they should be:

Simple

The most important feature of your website is ease of use, if your visitors can't find what they want quickly and easily they'll soon head back to Google and find someone else.

I design websites with simplicity in mind, keeping your visitors relaxed, comfortable and in the right state of mind to purchase your products.

Accessible

Accessibilty is an important issue and doesn't just apply to 'disabled' visitors, although they are an important consideration.

An accessible website should be easy to navigate and view on any computer (including your iPhone, PDA or the old, slow computer at your grandparents house).

This also covers Website Marketing - see our basic included package.

Stylish

Initial impressions mean a great deal, if your visitors feel comfortable and at ease they will relax. A relaxed visitor is far more likely to purchase your product with confidence.

Addressing the first two requirements doesn't mean your website has to be boring or unattractive. Checkout my website portfolio for some examples.

Coding in progress ...

As you can see, there's not a lot to read at WEBECHO MEDIA at the moment. It's been time to re-design my website for quite a while now, the old one was working well but needed an update and I've been itching to try out the usable parts of HTML5.

Of course, as always happens when you decide to take a bit of spare time to work on your own project, you suddenly have no spare time left as the work comes piling in.

Still, planning and starting your own website re-design is a great way to drum up business!.
